Ilhaan Abdikarim serves as a store clerk at Rabata Cultural Center and Bookshop. She is studying at the University of Minnesota, pursuing a degree in Health Services and Management.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, a city enriched in Somali Culture, she always seeks ways to give back to her community. She aspires to one day take a leadership position at a Healthcare Organization, hoping to expand equitable resources for those in need.
Ilhaan first came to Rabata in search of a secure study environment, but she later developed relationships with other customers, passersby, and students. She eventually became an involved member of the community.
Ilhaan loves film and art, spending most of her free time drawing and painting digitally. She also reads books, dreaming to be an author herself one day. Her biggest dream of all is being adventurous to create her own story, traveling and discovering beautiful and diverse places in the world as much as possible, and living life to the fullest.
