Ayaan Hamza serves as a Rabata Cultural Center Intern. As a second-generation American of Oromo descent, she currently attends White Bear Lake Area High School, and will be a junior in the fall of 2024.
She discovered Rabata in 2022 through their online RabaTEENS program, and started attending in-person classes at RCC in the summer of 2023. She considers it her home away from home and loves the Muslim community that it provides her.
She has participated in multiple extracurricular activities throughout the years such as Ambassadors, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, Black Student Union, Homecoming Committee, Yearbook Club, and WEB (Where Everyone Belongs). She has volunteered at different spaces, such as Tamarack Nature Center, Vadnais Heights City Hall, and RCC.
She enjoys reading, writing fictional stories, spending time with friends, and traveling. She couldn’t be more excited to join the RCC staff!
