Ayaan Hamza serves as a store clerk at Rabata Cultural Center and Bookshop. As a second-generation American of Oromo descent, she currently attends White Bear Lake Area High School as a Junior.
She discovered Rabata in 2022 through their online RabaTEENS program, and started attending in-person classes at the RCC in the summer of 2023. She considers it her home away from home, and loves the Muslim community that it gives her.
She has participated in multiple extracurricular activities throughout the years such as Ambassadors, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, Black Student Union, Homecoming Committee, Yearbook Club, and WEB (Where Everyone Belongs). She has volunteered at different places, such as Tamarack Nature Center, Vadnais Heights City Hall, and the RCC.
She enjoys reading, writing fictional stories, spending time with friends, and traveling.
