Responsibilities
- Teach Somali language to women at the Rabata Cultural Center
- Work with Rabata education team to set appropriate curriculum and devise effective educational strategies
- Provide students with the agreed-upon content
- Assess student knowledge and provide positive, effective feedback to support student learning and growth
- Utilize online learning platforms
- Follow up with students (or their parents) throughout their learning experience
- Conduct classes as scheduled
- Establish a welcoming environment at the Rabata Cultural Center
- Attend planning meetings as needed
- Comply with classroom policies
- Collaborate with internal Rabata teams
Skills
- Knowledge of Somali (Af-Maxaa) Language, language structure, and vocabulary
- Teaching experience
- Comfortable with technology
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments and flexibility to adapt to changes
