Salawat Project
Join this year's salawat projects at rabata's new ibadah app!
Every year, during the blessed month of Rabi’ al-Awwal and Sha’ban, Rabata encourages a global effort in collective salawat (sending prayers upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to increase our love for him.) It is said that an increasing love for the Prophet ﷺ engenders sincerity in our efforts to follow his example, facilitates the application of his teachings in our daily lives and enables us to remain steadfast on the straight path under the Prophetic banner. Salawat is also a means of receiving blessings, light, and mercy.
Rabata first began the Salawat Project in 2010, and continues to launch annually with the intention to fulfill the beautiful purpose of global effort in collectively sending prayers upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Whoever sends one prayer upon me, Allah ta’ala sends ten prayers upon him and records ten good deeds.” (Sunan al- Tirmidhi)
Sha’ban is sometimes overshadowed by the significant months of Rajab and Ramadan. However, it is packed with opportunities to gear up for Ramadan and draw closer to the Prophet ﷺ by sending Salawat upon him.
In this blessed month, Allah ta’ala sent down the following verse commanding Salawat to be sent upon the Prophet ﷺ:
“Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask (Allah to send) blessings upon him and ask (Allah to grant him) peace.” (Al Ahzab verse 56)
Let’s join together and use this opportunity to send salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ. One of the simplest forms of sending prayers upon the Prophet (s) is by reciting the following supplication: “Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammad”
Discover the Prophet ﷺ in a way you never imaged. Women will learn from Sira, listen to beautiful poetry, enjoy nasheed and be enriched by presentations about the qualities of the Beloved ﷺ in the coming blessed month of Rabi’ Al-Awwal.
Join today’s female scholars at Masjid Rabata! This month-long learning celebration will begin September 16th and run through October 14th.
All events are WOMEN ONLY and at no cost!
